I have let myself stray again.  I’ve always felt as though God’s word would one day just grab my heart and never let go and that I would mature into this person who is right with God and is Godly without even trying.  Lately I’ve been pretending.  Pretending to be a Christian.  Haven’t opened my Bible at all in the last 4 weeks, and i’ve said to lots of people “I am in a really good place with God.” So embarrassing.   Today’s sermon was so convicting that I felt the need to cover my eyes. I was so embarrassed by my own selfishness and pride.   Our Pastor used the verse: 1 Corinthians 15:10 - But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect.  No, I worked harder than all of them —yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. Hmm ok. I don’t work hard at it.  Ohh ohh. So everyday I have to work hard at it, I will never arrive, and by the grace of our Lord Jesus, every single time I come to meet Him in my quiet times should be an awakening. Every time Doll.  If you’ve never heard this song, download it.  it is truly food for the soul and the soundtrack of my day.   Forgive my ignorance Lord.  My ears, heart, mind, and soul are open again and ready to work hard.
